  • Go back to your Moodle admin page and press “Site administration” on the left side.
  • Press “Advanced features” and scroll to “Enable plagiarism plugins”. Don’t forget to save your changes.
  • Go back to your administration site and choose the section about plugins. Press “Install plugins”.

  • Press “Install plugin from Zip file” and continue.

Plugin Options and their Meaning

API debug – Switching off this option allows encrypting the call-back submitted to PlagiarismSearch API. In case the option is on, the call back will not be encrypted.

Autocheck – the option allows/disallows automatic check of a document right after it is uploaded by a student.

Manual Check – the option allows/disallows a student to upload a document and submit it for plagiarism check after pressing the “Check Your Text” button.

Add to Storage – the option allows/disallows to automatically save all texts submitted for plagiarism check to a user’s personal storage for future checks.

Sources – the option determines whether the document will be checked for plagiarism through the Web only, through the Storage only, or through the Web and Storage simultaneously.

Only Latin characters – the option allows/disallows to detect the replacement of Latin characters by non-Latin in the submitted text.

Exclude references – the option allows/disallows to exclude references from the plagiarism check so that the similarities found in the references do not affect the overall similarity score.

Exclude in-text citations – the option allows/disallows to exclude in-text citations from the plagiarism check so that the similarities found in the references do not affect the overall similarity score.

Exclude self-plagiarism – the option allows/disallows to exclude plagiarism found in the papers of the same student, exclude plagiarism found in the papers of the same student within the same course, and exclude plagiarism found in the papers of all students within the same course (not recommended).

Report language – choose the plagiarism report from the list of languages supported by our software – English, Spanish, Polish, or Russian.

Report file type – choose the plagiarism report file type from the list supported by our software - PDF, HTML, PDF + HTML or do not show the report.

Allow students view reports – choose the plagiarism report file type that will be available for students to view - PDF, HTML, PDF + HTML or do not show the report.

Allow students view plagiarism percentage – the option allows/disallows the students to view plagiarism percentage in the submitted document.

Allow students submit papers – the option allows/disallows the students to submit documents for plagiarism check on their own.

Allow students re-submit papers – the option allows/disallows the students to re-submit documents for plagiarism check on their own after revision.

The number of re-submits – choose the number of re-submits allowed for each student.

Student disclosure – make sure the students know that their texts are checked for authenticity by plagiarism check software. The sample text is written in the box “All files uploaded will be submitted to PlagiarismSearch.com detection service”. You are allowed to modify the text or delete it.

Allow URL parsing in text – the option allows/disallows a student to submit any validated type of links with the completed task instead of the assignment text to be checked for plagiarism.

Valid URLs list for parsing – write a list of URLs that will be valid for students to be inserted instead of the assignment text and checked for plagiarism. E.g. docs.google.com/, drive.google.com/, etc.

Press the button “Save Changes” after you choose the necessary settings. You will be able to change your saved settings at any time.
